Fab Lab Bahrain completed the first phase of its mobile fabrication program aiming to develop vocational secondary school training in the country. Selected Secondary school teachers received digital fabrication training. The program merges digital fabrication skills and tools with STEAM education within a portable mobile fab lab.
The program aims to increase Vocational and technical secondary school student’s awareness of the importance of innovative fabrication in the classroom and to establish an educational platform within schools. The program introduces the possibilities offered by digital fabrication technology and prototyping principles and how they could instigate a sense of curiosity and creativity. The program also provides the students with the necessary skills and tools for ‘Project-Based Learning’.
